This thunderstorm has been brewing all week, and it's such a relief to see the clouds break and feel the breeze come blowing in. The trees need the rain, and maybe it will also speed along the wild ramps and sluggish spring flowers that we long to welcome.

Though it's raining now, we expect clear skies and beautiful weather tomorrow at Steamboat Landing. We look forward to sharing this delicious meal and some exciting new desserts with you. This prolonged in-between season, where none of our fruits are truly in season yet, brings us to creative and fun combinations. Luckily we saved a great deal of the summer's bounty in our freezers and dehydrators this year, so we have blueberries and sweet cherries aplenty.
