The holiday season is upon us and before we Mamas take some time to rest and break bread with our loved ones*, we want to celebrate this year's bounty with our market family. So, we have prepared a veritable feast for you to enjoy at tomorrow's Ithaca Farmers Market! Roasted turnips combine with charming butterkin squash from Stick and Stone Farm, chestnuts make their way into a hearty brussels sprouts dish, and simmered local cranberries add a touch of sweetness to the meal.
And if sweet is all you want, try one of our seasonal desserts! We'll have maple gingerbread made with fresh local ginger, a star-topped pumpkin pie, and a Macro Mamas staple: local fruit crisp. This week it's apples and pears, baked to perfection with cider-soaked dried figs and mulberries. Taste the fall harvest and join us in giving thanks to our region's many talented farmers and producers!
