This time of year is full to bursting with marvelous things to do. Pond swimming, garden planting, forest walking, and enjoying the much-needed, mighty thunderstorms that sweep across the Land Between the Lakes. Everywhere I look, I see the beauty of summer unfolding. The first lonely fireflies. Fat bullfrog tadpoles in Foster Pond. New leaves on old trees. Dahlia tubers poking up from the soil. Pale yellow irises opening in the morning dew. Yeah, yeah, everybody's talking about gratitude these days...but that doesn't make it any less sweet and tender. We are truly privileged to live surrounded by such beauty. Let us protect it always, and find ways to share it, always.

We'll be down at Steamboat Landing for the Ithaca Farmers Market, as always, with our full menu, including corn fritters, a fabulous array of desserts, and our ever-changing, always-delicious Platter of the Day.
You can ALSO find some of our most popular items at Ithaca Festival, where the kind folks at Healthy Food For All will be slinging Peanut Lime Noodles, Remembrance Farm salad greens, and some small treats. We'd love to see you at the Farmers Market -- and you can't get corn fritters anywhere else! -- but we also hope you'll swing over to Healthy Food For All to support their wonderful mission of making fresh, local, healthy food available and accessible to all people regardless of socio-economic class. We are fortunate to have such an organization in our community, doing work that helps to mitigate inequality and bring food justice to the Finger Lakes region.
Thanks as always for allowing us to cook for you! And thanks to our farmers, including Buried Treasures Farm who contributed the sweetest, most succulent, delicious Hakurei turnips to our menu this week. Like little white globes of pure earth-candy, these turnips are delightful when roasted and graced with a little lemon zest.
